Art from the Heart Show Calendar:
Friday, January 18, 2008 - registration forms due
Wednesday, January 30 - Deliver art work to Showcase 10-1 PM
Friday, February 1 - Show opens
Friday, February 8 - Public reception 5-7 PM
Saturday, March 1 - Pick up unsold work, 10-3:00 PM at the Showcase.
Location:
Artwork will be displayed at Showcase Art Center, 1335 8th Avenue, Greeley, From February 1st through the twenty-ninth.
Eligibility and Requirements:
Works must be original, completed in the last two years, not entered in this show previously, and for sale. No substitutions accepted at time of delivery. Two-dimensional entries must be framed, dry, and wired for hanging (no saw tooth hangers or exposed glass edges). Entry size is limited to 30” X 40” framed, or 70 united inches (length plus width). If the work is deemed unsuitable for hanging in a public venue, or of unacceptable artistic merit by the jurying committee, notification will be given by 5:00 PM. January 31st. Sculptors are responsible for installation of their pieces; weight is limited to 100 lbs. No early removal of artwork.
Categories:
Oil (includes acrylic on canvas, board), water media (includes acrylic on paper, under glass), pastel, 3-D, photography, and other media.
Entry:
Nonrefundable entry is $25. for GAA members who have paid their 2008 dues by Dec. 31, 2008 and $30. for nonmembers for up to 3 juried pieces and up to 5 bin items (defined as unframed, protected 2-D and small 3-D pieces). Registration forms must be received by the Greeley Art Association on or before Fri., Jan. 18, 2008. Please make checks payable to: Greeley Art Association. Work must be delivered to Showcase on Wed., Jan. 30th between 10:00 AM and 1:00. Please bring a list of bin items with descriptions and prices with you when you deliver your work. Artists re invited to provide a one page artist’s statement/resume to be included in the show notebook.
Reception:
A reception for artists and the public is on Friday, Feb. 8th from 5-7:00 PM. at Showcase Art Center.
Awards:
Ribbons and cash prizes will be awarded.
Best of show: $100.
Category Awards:
1st: $50.
2nd: $40.
3rd: $30.
Unsold Entries:
Pick up unsold entries on Sat., March 1st, between 10:00 AM and 3:00. Unclaimed art will be subject to a $5. a day storage fee.
Liability:
Extremely fragile work or work not properly presented will not be accepted. Although every precaution will be taken to assure protection of entries, neither the GAA nor Showcase will assume responsibility for loss or damage of any work.
Sales:
The Greeley Art Association charges a 30% commission on all artwork sales.
Identification Tags:
Attach to back of each entry when delivered.
