Arts Picnic -- Plan for July 24th and 25th.
There is no formal Newsletters for the summer. I/We will be sending email
notices etc for events as they occur.
This notice is to give everyone a heads up notice that GAA will have a booth
again at Arts Picnic. The dates are July 24 and 25 in Lincoln Park. Rhonda -
coordinator for the City, - has said that the booth will be located in a
different part of the park this year but has not yet designated exactly where.
What this does for us is to give us a different view(s) to paint. She
emphasized that she really wants us to do plein aire painting during the Arts
Picnic. To give us incentive for that: For the last two years-paintings done by
our plein aire folks have been purchased and used as the Arts Picnic logo on
T-shirts etc. So get your minds(s) in gear and lets see what we can come up with
for this year.
I will be coordinating set up of the tent and times for folks to sit with it
like last year and would like to have volunteers to sit and/or paint during
periods of the two days. You can choose what times you want to be there. You
can also bring some pieces of your art to sell during the time you are at the
booth.
There will be a more formal schedule set up so I can be sure that all time slots
are covered and you all need to let me know what time you prefer and whether you
will also be painting. Your choice now, so let me know what you want and I will
put you in that time place. Folks will also be needed just to be there to
promote GAA etc.
Arts Picnic committee is really open to us participating so lets give them and
us a real participation showing.
