The Greeley Art Association took its place in the community over 40 years ago and has continued to be a highly involved art organization. Its monthly meetings feature guest artist demonstrations for a variety of media from oil, watercolor and egg tempera to mask-making and organic staining. A monthly newsletter sent to members includes upcoming shows, area art activities, and member news. The Association sponsors or co-sponsors three art shows a year and awards art scholarships and fellowships. The GAA also provides several programs for children, brings in well-known artists for demonstrations, workshops, as featured artists and as jurors. The organization offers a plein air painting group, has group critiquing sessions, and participates in community service activities.
